Congratulations and welcome to our new board members, and sincere thanks to the retiring members

Ka tuku mihi ki nga mema o - Thank you to the members, for taking the time to vote in the recent AGM elections.

The Chairman and the board of directors of New Zealand Disc Golf wish to sincerely thank our retiring board members, Mr Martin Galley (Tour Director), Mr Chris Smith (Outreach Director), and Mr Mat Prichard (Treasurer), for their service to NZDG and disc golf in New Zealand.

Also, we wish to extend our congratulations to our new board members; Mr Chris Dickson (Deputy Chair), Mr Roberts Krastins (Tour Director), Ms Liene Krastina (Secretary), and Mr Chris Mance (Outreach Director). Mr Galley’s five-year tenure as Tour Director has overseen massive growth in the NZDG Tour and huge changes to tournament size and format. Swelling from 228 total players in 2017, to today when we have 409 players with seven events still to play. Martin’s dedication to NZDG, the Tour, and as Secretary has been invaluable. His incredible passion for disc golf, along with the depth and breadth of his experience will be missed. Mr Smith’s year-long service as Outreach Director has seen him progress the nascent NZDG School’s program and also serving as Treasurer during the transition period leading up to the SGM in September 2020. Despite a persistent and life-changing injury which prevents him playing, Chris’s devotion to disc golf continues unabated, and NZDG’s loss is the Timaru district’s gain.

Mr Prichard served as Financial Advisor to the board commencing early in 2020. He was subsequently voted in as Treasurer at the October SGM, but was asked by the board to adopt the Chairman’s role after the SGM and subsequent board resignations in October. His outstanding governance abilities gained as an officer of Snow Sports NZ were invaluable in this transition period ahead of the subsequent SGM in December, when he became Treasurer. He was instrumental in obtaining funding for the NZDG pilot project at Spa Park, in Taupo. Mat will now become Financial Advisor again after his election to the position. His continued input is greatly appreciated.

The board would like to officially welcome members Mr Dickson, Mr Krastins, Ms Krastina and Mr Mance. Their induction onto the board has been completed. Members are reminded the contact emails for NZDG roles have not changed, and are as follows:
